Board of Directors Elections

To be nominated for election to the Board of Directors, the name and contact information for the potential nominee should be submitted to the Chair of the Nominating Committee. Email. Any member can suggest any other member as a potential nominee.

Prior to a name being placed on the slate of nominees, two current Board members will contact the potential nominee by phone. After discussion, should the potential nominee agree to have their name placed on the slate AND THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE APPROVES OF THE NOMINATION, a package of material will be mailed to them for their review and signature. The package contains an introduction letter that provides an overview of the responsibilities of Board members, the "Board of Director Member Responsibility Guidelines" and the "Conflict of Interest Guidelines." Both sets of guideline forms must be signed and returned to TRIO national headquarters by the stated deadline. A sample "Board Member Pledge Form" is also provided, but is not signed until after a person is elected to the Board of Directors.

Each potential nominee is provided an Information/Data form that must be completed, signed and returned. The information submitted is provided on the ballot to familiarize members with those seeking election to the Board. CVs are not accepted in lieu of Information/Data form.
