Team USA is a program managed by TRIO to promote health and wellness among recipients through participation in the events and activities of the World Transplant Games Federation.

There are three major activities for Team USA participants: 

Dresden, World Transplant Games 2025, Germany

Event info

The World Transplant Games is an eight-day and seven-night athletic competition held every two years under the auspices of the World Transplant Games Federation (WTGF). Competition is open to anyone who has received a lifesaving solid organ transplant--heart, intestine, liver, kidney, lung, pancreas, or allogenic bone marrow recipients.  The next Games will be in Dresden, Germany from August 17-24.

World Transplant Games Federation

Event info

The Winter World Transplant Games were first held in France in 1994 and take place in the intervening years of the Summer Games, providing an opportunity for athletes to compete in a variety of winter sports, including alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding and curling.  Also open to anyone with a life-sustaining solid organ transplant, the site of the 2026 Winter World Games will be determined shortly

World Transplant Football

Transplant Football World Cup

The Transplant Football World Cup is a new and exciting international event based on the FIFA World Cup.  The event will feature teams of transplant recipient athletes from around the world competing to be the world’s best and the winner of the first Cup.  Modelled on the FIFA World Cup, the inaugural tournament took place in Cervia, Italy in September, 2024, bringing transplant and bone marrow recipients from 11 nations (Australia, Chile, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Romania, Spain, USA and Wales), to compete in a 7-a-side format to crown an International Champion.
